Lab Architecture
This hands-on lab uses a SYLVA-based cloud-native environment built around Kubernetes clusters and core platform components. Participants explore the relationship between the Management Cluster and Workload Clusters and discover how technologies such as Cluster API, FluxCD, Harbor, and RKE2 support cluster lifecycle management, application deployment, image management, and platform operations. The lab also introduces GitOps-based automation and security controls through practical deployment and platform exploration activities.
Why this Lab ?
The SYLVA for Telco Lab provides a hands-on environment designed for managers, architects, engineers, and both technical and non-technical profiles to understand how cloud-native platforms can support modern telecom infrastructure. Participants will discover the role of SYLVA in the telecom ecosystem and explore key concepts such as Kubernetes, containers, management and workload clusters, GitOps, automation, security, and platform operations. Through practical exercises, the lab helps participants understand how SYLVA brings together cloud-native technologies to simplify deployment, improve consistency, and support scalable and automated telecom platforms.
Lab Objectives
- Understand the challenges of modern telecom cloud infrastructure and why SYLVA was introduced.
- Discover the role of SYLVA within the telecom cloud-native ecosystem.
- Understand Linux, containers, and Kubernetes fundamentals in a simple and practical way.
- Explore the architecture of a SYLVA platform and the relationship between Management and Workload Clusters.
- Identify the role of key SYLVA components such as Cluster API, FluxCD, Harbor, and RKE2.
- Understand how GitOps and automation improve consistency and reduce manual platform operations.
- Deploy and verify a simple workload on a SYLVA-based Kubernetes environment.
