Explore OpenShift and cloud-native basics in this beginner lab for telco engineers, moving from legacy systems to containers, SIP/IMS examples, and simple 5G workloads.
About The Lab
Prerequisites
Audiences
This Hands-On Training provides a local OpenShift environment deployed with CodeReady Containers (CRC), offering a practical platform to build, deploy, and manage Telco cloud-native workloads. The lab uses the OpenShift web console and CLI for cluster operations, while GitLab and ArgoCD enable automated, GitOps-driven deployments. Operators manage core services such as networking, storage, monitoring and allowing you to experience how telecom applications—like HSS, IMS, or 5G Core components run, scale, and self-heal on an enterprise-grade Kubernetes platform.
Why this Lab ?
This beginner-friendly lab introduces participants to OpenShift and Cloud-Native concepts in a simple, hands-on way.
It helps Telco professionals understand how the industry is moving from legacy hardware-based systems to virtualized and containerized cloud platforms.
Through guided challenges and step-by-step labs, participants will learn the fundamentals of virtualization, containers, orchestration, and OpenShift operations, including real Telco examples such as SIP servers, IMS components, and basic 5G workloads.
