This Hands-On Training provides a playground for IMS beginners to test, configure and troubleshoot different IMS protocols and concepts, by utilizing a Virtualized IMS network capable of establishing real IMS VoIP Calls and signaling.
Why this Lab ?
This Lab serves as a foundational guide to understanding the essential principles of IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) destined for beginners. By introducing a step-by-step beginner-friendly exploration of IMS and its architecture while gaining knowledge on the foundational concepts (packet analysis, packet generation, DNS, TCP,UDP, Wirehark, sopthons...) that are needed through your journey in IMS... Our IMS beginner Lab offers a hands-on yet simple-to-follow introduction to SIP, SDP, different IMS nodes, SIP procedures, and much more.
Lab Objectives
- Gain a deep understanding of IMS and its role in delivering multimedia services over IP networks.
- Learn how IMS overcomes telecom limitations by transitioning from circuit to packet-switched systems.
- Master IMS protocols like SIP, SDP, RTP, and Diameter for call setup, media negotiation, and authentication.
- Develop expertise in IMS architecture, including P-CSCF, I-CSCF, S-CSCF, and AS, for efficient call routing.
- Gain hands-on experience capturing and analyzing IMS traffic using Wireshark for troubleshooting and optimization.
